After last week’s spirited discussion on favorite standups, we decided to follow it up this Sunday with, “What’s your favorite sketch comedy?” This is a wonderful idea, except nobody has written anything. I’ve been traveling, our General Manager Laura Fox’s been exchanging our last few back issues for magic beans (“Trust me, this is business”), and Michael Pershan…well, my prayers are with him, always. While everything seemed normal when we talked on Thursday, the circumstances of any person with three small children are prone to snap-reversals.
So Laura and I are sitting here at The Dispensing Co. in lovely Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It’s cool and dark and there’s a horse race on, and Laura shouts over the noise: “So, MG, what’s your favorite sketch comedy?”
